Seventeen players participated in Kinston's first Ace Race. Skill levels ranged from beginners to seasoned players and pros.
Ties were broken by a one-shot Closest-To-the-Pin (CTP) contest on hole #10.
There were no aces in the ace races rounds, although Jeremy Jones did ace hole 17 during the casual doubles round that afternoon.
Prizes included a bag, towel and special mini and selection of premium discs from Discraft for the grand prize, a pair of Keen shoes and a t-shirt from Great Outdoor Provision Co., a pair of drippless umbrellas from Rivendell Rentals, and some great brownies from Robyn Godfrey. The Kinston Disc Golf Association provided discs featuring custom dye artwork by local artist and disc golfer Austion Sult. Many thanks to all our sponsors.
Volunteers Christian Smith and Teri Smith ran the sign-in table and provided lunch. Many thanks to our great volunteers.
Thanks also to our sponsors, Discraft, Great Outdoor Provision Company, Rivendell Rentals, Robyn Godfrey (the Brownie Fairy) and Kinston Disc Golf Association.
Each player pack included 2 prototype discs, a full-color mini marker disc, a Discraft hat, and a window sticker. The prototype discs were well received.
The morning started with light rain, which cleared before our 10:00am tee time. The day cleared and turned out to be a beautiful, warm steamy day.
