This is our fourth annual Ice Bowl charity disc golf event, and it was our biggest yet!
Official Results are in...
Thanks to our sponsors, volunteers and players for your outstanding generousity and community spirit! This was our 4th Ice Bowl, and our best yet. Congratulations to everyone who participated.
The Charities: This year, the proceeds from the event will go to Kinston ICOR, the local food bank. Donations of supplies for the SPCA will also be collected. Please click here for details and the ICOR and SPCA wish lists.
Pig Pickin': This year's event includes a pig pickin' dinner following the awards festivities. We've got the same great cooking crew back this year. You won't want to miss it. Players get one ticket in the player's pack. Additional guest tickets will be available for a $5.00 donation.
Basket Toss: Each registered player will receive one ticket for the basket toos. Additional tickets can be purchased at lunch. And additional tickets may be awarded throughout the day. We will be throwing for an Innova Traveler portable disc golf goal provided by Disc Golf U, one of our sponsors.
January Monthly: This event will also serve as Kinston's January Monthly, so if you're interested is keeping up your points for the year, this one counts! And it's on a Saturday. Rain or shine. (The normal monthly payout structure will not be used for this event, since the Ice Bowl is a charity fund raiser. Winners in all divisions will receive Ice Bowl bag tags - pretty spiffy!)
The pig pickin' has been provided by some very generous donors and does not detract from the total we give to our charities.
ICOR - dry goods like pasta, rice, beans and cereal are most needed at present.
SPCA - Bleach; Canned Dog Food, or Canned Cat Food (currently have plenty of dry adult food); Kitten Food, or Puppy Food, any kind; Bounce Dryer Sheets; Paper Towels
The Ice Bowl is a nationwide event held by local disc golf clubs in January and February each year. Clubs compete on various criteria, including donations, total food collected, coldest weather played, best photos. It’s all for fun, community, and an excuse to play outside.
