Kinston Disc Golf Bag Tag Challenge Info & Policies

Bag tags are fun. They're also a pain to keep up with, but we've recruited another Bag Tags Manager and this time around, we think we've got a good plan. There are still details to be worked out, but we're working on it. We're shooting for a reboot sometime in July. Please check back soon and see what's new. --posted 6/18/2012

Old Bag Tag Series Info...

It's true. Kinston has bag tags. Entry into the Bag Tag Challenge costs $5.00 for club members-in-good-standing, and $10.00 for non-members. You do not have to be a KDGA member to participate in the tag challenge.

If you want to get a bag tag, please check in with our bag tag manager, Spencer Hill. Players will be given the next lowest available tag, as available.

Who Has Which Tag?

Visit the "Bag Tag List" page to see the current list of players and which tag they hold. If you need contact information for a player, please contact Spencer Hill, Bag Tag Coordinator.

How It Works...

Have fun and follow the rules and spirit of disc golf. The purpose of the Bag Tag is to add another fun element to personal, league, and tournament rounds of disc golf. Please display your Bag Tag where others can easily see it. Please read over the rules. It looks like a lot, but it's pretty simple.

The Goal

Your goal is to have the lowest numbered Bag Tag possible and have fun along the way.

Getting your Bag Tag

Give your name, email address, and phone number to the Bag Tag Coordinator along with your entry fee. Entrance into the Bag Tag club is $5.00 for Kinston Disc Golf (KDG) club members and $10.00 for non-club members. If you decide you would like to join the KDG club, it is $15.00 to join, and then $5.00 for the Bag Tag.

Rules of Engagement

When a challenge is completed, the results of the challenge must be reported to the Bag Tag Coordinator within 3 days of the completion of the challenge. The results must include the players’ names, recogizable to the Bag Tag Coordinaror, and the bag tag number each player holds following the challenge.

Casual Round Challenges (CRC)

KDG Bag Tag members may casually meet at a course and play a challenge round, or they may agree to meet at a course/time to compete for bag tags in:

- Head-to-Head challenges, “me versus you”

- Group Challenges, where multiple players each put a Bag Tag at stake during the group round.

Members may not refuse to accept/schedule a challenge and then proceed to play a round without forfeiting their tag (see Forfeiture).

Proximity & Distance Challenges (PDC) - Event, League or, Tournament Play

KDG Bag Tag members “competing in” (proximity) a coordinated Disc Golf event (official or casual) may agree beforehand to compete for Bag Tags while playing in separate cards/groups/divisions (distance), for a given round or whole event. Example: “Let’s see who shoots a lower score in Round 1; or whole event.”

Rematches

Challengers who have just won do not have to accept or schedule a rematch challenge with the player she or he has just beaten until whichever comes first: one week has passed; or either player completes a different challenge; or a group Bag-Tag event occurs in which they are both participating.

Forfeiture

Each Bag Tag belongs to the entire Bag Tag Challenge club and should be accessible to all Bag Tag Challenge club members. Any Bag Tag club member will be required to surrender his/her Bag Tag if:

If you lose your Bag Tag, please report it immediately to the Bag Tag Coordinator. You may then purchase the next lowest number Bag Tag available. Replacement tags, if available, will cost $5.00.

Rules are subject to change and the KDG Board of Directors will decide all disputes. The KDG Board of Directors reserves the right to revoke your Bag Tag at our discretion if wrong doing is occurring.

Absence and Change of Address

Please tell the Bag Tag Coordinator if your phone number or email address changes, and anytime you will be out of town for more than a few days, and when you will return.

Awards

Some Bag Tag “status” awards will be given out a couple of times a year, or more often if possible. “Status” awards and prizes will be determined by the Bag Tag Coordinator and announced on the kinstondiscgolf.com web site.
